Every day, thousands of rental cars, campers and motorhomes sit at the wrong depot. They need to be at the airport by Friday. Someone has to drive them there — and rental companies would rather it wasn't an employee on the payroll. That's the gap Tote Car fills.

What we do

Tote Car is a listing platform. Rental operators post vehicles that need to be moved from one location to another by a specific date. Drivers browse those relocations and book the ones that fit their travel plans. The rental company handles the vehicle, the insurance, and the handover; we handle the matching, the messaging and the paperwork in between.

Why it works

• Drivers get near-free one-way rentals — often $1 a day — instead of paying full rate or a one-way drop fee.
• Rental companies avoid ferrying vehicles with paid staff, reposition fleet at almost zero cost, and expose their brand to a new pool of travellers.
• Trips get moved quickly — most listings clear within days once they hit the site.

Where we operate

Tote Car is a global platform. Every relocation is a direct agreement between the driver and the rental operator listing the vehicle, so trips can be listed anywhere a rental company operates. Current activity is strongest across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.
